In October 2010 MyBroadband provided a list of South African tech companies to watch. Most of these companies performed very well since then, and most of them were acquired by bigger players.
The 2010 list consisted of Nology, Neology, ARC Telecoms, Cerebra, Technology Concepts, and Quirk.
Nology is the only one in the list which was not acquired, and is still successfully run by the founders Karel and Riaan Leuschner.
Neology was acquired by Multisource in October 2013, while ARC Telecoms was acquired by Jasco in April 2012.
Technology Concepts was bought by Altech in 2010, while Cerebra and Quirk were acquired by the global advertising giant WPP.
