Spicing up bedroom life is something that's popular in South Africa. In their Google searches for sex toys, South Africans rank the third highest globally at least that's what the Statistic Brain Research Institute says. In a recent report released on global sex toy industry, it revealed that after US and UK, the third in rank in this respect was South Africa.

The sex toy industry is valued at approximately $15-billion globally. Seventy percent of those toys are made in China and it exports around twenty percent of its products to S. A.

It is not only the online options that people look at, there are bedroom boutiques too that some people prefer as they can get take a look after coming to the shop and are interested in learning more about the product.

Bonnie Brunton, who is a co-owner of The Bedroom, a women's boutique in Umhlanga, says customers spend an amount between R1000 and R7000 for high-end sex toys. She said, "Our boutiques perform better than our online stores because most clients want the experience of coming into the store and want to learn about the product. Some are shy when they first arrive, while others walk in and know exactly what they want." According to her demand is growing and people like to add spice to their lives which is nothing wrong.

The franchise has a boutique in Parkhurst, Johannesburg, and is now extending one more in Cape Town.
