National Geographic Traveler has published the annual list of the best tourist destinations in the world

Top destinations in the world in 2017 include countries like Malta, Colombia, Finland, Morocco, Papua New Guinea and Russia. The recommendations are divided into three categories, that are cities nature and culture.

The best nature tourist destination is, according to the opinion of the editors, the island of Kauai, considered the paradise of Hawaii, with high cliffs, waterfalls, tropical forests and luxurious vegetation.

Finland is also recommended as a great destination of 2017. The 40 national parks and 6 hiking areas are described as sanctuaries of those who seek peace.

The tourists who are looking for effervescence are urged to visit Seoul. With a population of 25 million inhabitants, the capital of South Korea spreads vibrations of life and light on its streets, squares, skyscrapers, palaces, restaurants and fashion shops.

Chengdu City and is also on the list, due to its traditional Chinese cuisine. The region, recognized by UNESCO as 'The city of gastronomy', is famous for its traditional foods such as smoked tea duck, ma po tofu and kung pao chicken.

Malta is one of the cities among the recommended cultural destinations due to its history and its formidable heritage. The land of the Maltese Knights and its capital city Valletta recently became the stage for the global phenomenon Game of Thrones. Next year, Malta will organize many cultural activities, including the Carnival, which will take place in February, and several weekends that will celebrate various saints from May to September, known as the 'Festas'.

The 21 destinations for 2017, chosen by National Geographic Traveler, in alphabetical order, are: Anchorage in the United States; Baja California in Mexico; Banff in Canada; Canton of Uri from Switzerland; Cartagena in Colombia, national parks of central India; Chengdu, China; Cradle of Humankind in South Africa; rainforests of Ecuador; Finland; Georgia in the United States; Guadeloupe Island; Hamburg in Germany; Kauai in Hawaii, United States; Madrid in Spain; Malta; Marrakech in Morocco; Moscow in Russia; Papua New Guinea; Seoul in South Korea; the Balkans.
