With America having more normalised relations with Cuba, the island country has been increasingly viewed as a potential tourism gem.

Those who have enjoyed the delights of Cuba will vouch for the country's unique culture and setting - especially considering it has not been affected by globalism as much as most other destinations.

More and more airlines are now flying to Havana, the country's capital, with Turkish Airlines being the latest to announce their route.

The airline also announced that South Africans will be able to fly from Cape Town, Johannesburg or Durban to the Cuban city.

We decided to take a look at the current routes available from South Africa to Cuba. Unfortunately, there is no direct route from any SA airport to Havana, but there are a few connecting flight options.

See some of the airlines and their routes below…

If some of these routes don't suit you, there's no need to worry - with more and more airlines creating routes to Havana, you will be able to mix and match your own connecting flights to the city. We've found sites like Travelstart and Cheapflights very useful in this regard.
